What a maintenance plan covers
- Updates to WordPress, the theme and plugins, tested on a copy first so an update doesn't break the live site
- Backups of files and database, stored away from your hosting, with a restore you can ask for any time
- Security: firewall, login protection, malware scans and quick clean-up if something gets through
- Uptime and form checks, so you hear about a dead contact form from us, not from a lost customer
- SSL and domain renewals tracked, so the padlock never disappears and the domain never lapses
- Small content changes: prices, phone numbers, photos, a new staff member, a festival offer
- A monthly note of what was done, in plain words
Why it matters more than people think
Most of the broken sites we're asked to rescue weren't hacked by anyone clever. A plugin wasn't updated for two years, the hosting expired because the reminder went to an old email, or the contact form stopped sending after a mail setting changed. Each of those is a five-minute fix if someone is watching, and a lost month of enquiries if nobody is.
Sites we look after
We maintain sites we built and sites built by others. For a site someone else built, we start with a free check: platform, plugins, hosting, backups and who holds the logins. You get the findings even if you decide not to go ahead.
What it costs
Maintenance is quoted per site after the free check, because a five-page brochure site and a busy WooCommerce store need different amounts of care. The quote lists exactly what's covered each month and what counts as extra work.
