The Ministry of Education guidelines, January 2024
The Guidelines for Registration and Regulation of Coaching Centres, issued by the Ministry of Education in January 2024 and enforced by the states, ask every coaching centre to keep an updated website that shows:
- the qualifications of its tutors
- the courses it runs and how long each one lasts
- hostel facilities, where it offers them
- the fees, with the refund rules
They also bar misleading promises, guarantees of ranks or marks, and enrolling students below 16 years of age. Penalties run from ₹25,000 for a first offence to ₹1 lakh for a second, and registration can be cancelled after that.
The CCPA guidelines on coaching ads, November 2024
The Central Consumer Protection Authority's guidelines on misleading advertisements in the coaching sector apply to your website as much as to hoardings and newspaper ads:
- No false or unverifiable claims about courses, duration, faculty, fees, refunds, selection rates or rankings
- No "100% selection" or job and salary guarantees
- Toppers' names, photographs and testimonials only with written consent taken after the result
- Disclaimers that are prominent, not hidden in small print
- Say honestly whether a course is recognised by a body such as AICTE or UGC
How we build a coaching website around this
- Faculty pages with each teacher's qualifications, subjects and years of teaching
- Course pages with duration, batch timings, mode (classroom or online) and fees, including the refund policy, updated each session
- A results page that lists each selected student with name, rank, exam and year, and the course they actually took, with consent kept on file
- No guarantee language anywhere: "selections from our classroom programme" rather than "100% results"
- Hostel and facility details, including safety information, where you offer them
Delhi's own rules are still coming
After the deaths at a coaching institute's basement in Old Rajinder Nagar in 2024, the Delhi government announced it would regulate coaching centres. In June 2026 the Education Minister was still overseeing a draft framework, focused on building and fire safety, fees, mental health and grievance redressal. When it's notified, sites will probably need to show more safety information. We'll update this guide when it is.
Coaching sites we've built
Our education clients include Centre 4 Knowledge, Arush Academy and Chemistry Dias. If you run an institute in Mukherjee Nagar, Old Rajinder Nagar, Karol Bagh or Laxmi Nagar, send us your current site and we'll tell you what's missing.
